HBO's upcoming 'Westworld' looks weird and fantastic

Westworld is an upcoming HBO show created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, based on the 1973 Michael Crichton-penned film of the same name. Jonathan Nolan may sound familiar to you if you're familiar with his older brother Chris Nolan's work, most of which Jonathan Nolan helped write. Anyway. Ever since HBO announced the pilot for this show in 2013 I've been looking forward to it based on its premise alone, and the trailer does not disappoint.

The show revolves around a Western theme park, which, from the trailer, clearly has more going on behind the scenes than is originally let on. I don't know how close or far the show will be from the original film so Google at your own risk if you're trying to avoid spoilers!

Westworld is set to debut on HBO in October of 2016.
